The Safe Internet Day Conference

Today a conference on the occasion of the International Safe Internet Day was held in the Science Technology Park Belgrade, organized by the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, which brought together representatives of state administration involved in running National contact center for safety on the Internet which will start its work on February 27, as well as NGOs whose projects were approved through the Public Call of the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications for allocation of funds for programs for the development of the information society.

The conference was officially opened by Tatjana Matić, State Secretary at the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, Snežana Marković, Adviser for Information and Communications Technology in the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and Gordana Danilovic Grković, Acting Director of the Science Technology Park in Belgrade.

Safe Internet Day is marked in more than 120 countries around the world and in Europe alone it involves 21 thousand schools and 19.5 million people. Under the slogan “Change and unite for a better internet” this year a safe and positive usage of digital technologies is promoted.

Participants presented the programs and activities to improve the safety of children on the Internet and the development of digital literacy, in line with this year’s message for Safer Internet Day – “Be the change: unite for a better internet”, and also the the media campaign for child safety on the Internet is presented.
