Swiss parliamentarians delegation visited on October 15th Science Technology Park Belgrade, the first science technology park in Serbia, which establishment and development was supported by Swiss Government.
Амонг Swiss Parliament delegation were Andrea Caroni, President, Christian Lohr, Vice-President, Margret Kiener Nellen, Laurent Wehrli and Felix Müri. The visit was also attended by the Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation in Serbia, HE Philippe Guex, as well as Priska Depnering, Director of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Serbia and Ana Pajkovic, National Program Officer.
The establishment and development of the first science technology park in Serbia was supported by the Swiss Government’s Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) within the “Science and Technology Park Belgrade – The new export instrument of Serbia” project, so the representatives of STP Belgrade had a great honor to present to the Swiss delegation the development path of the Park and achieved results of the project.
Currently, there are more than 70 start-ups & growing high-tech companies operating within STP Belgrade, employing more than 700 highly educated staff and creating the income of 20 million euro in 2018, out of which about 60% came from exports. Gordana Danilovic Grkovic, Acting Director and Jelena Petrovic, Head of Business Development at STP Belgrade, presented to the guests the activities and programs that Science Technology Park Belgrade is developing in order to support the development of innovation and technological entrepreneurship, emphasizing that the development of services and the achieved results would not be possible without the support of the Swiss Government.
During the visit, Swiss delegation visited several Swiss companies operating within STP Belgrade: NextGen, Phytonet and Interventure, domestic company NovelIC, as well as startups Anora and Smart Research. The Swiss parliamentarians also had the opportunity to see 3D Innovation lab where young entrepreneurs are developing their hardware solutions. The creation and equipping of the 3D Lab was also supported by the funds of Swiss Government supporting project.
