Health-tech start-ups, finalists of ImagineIF! Serbia 2020 program, presented themselves for the first time last night, met some of the mentors and exchanged advices with health sector representatives and innovation support organizations in Serbia.
Meet & Greet gathering at Science Technology Park Belgrade officially announced the start of bootcamp during which start-ups will work on developing their innovations in the next two months, through workshops and mentoring sessions. The finals of the local competition will be held on May 28th.
Mobile app that tracks patients’ therapies, smart drug box, AI solution for people with diabetes, VR solution that helps children with special needs, management system for healthcare facilities, VR smart home solution for people with special needs, herbal medicine for gastritis, portable PCR device, 3D hip implants, baby health monitoring system, platform that gives patients easier access to doctors, vetGuide vet solution, laser microscopy – are this year’s the finalists solutions.
In addition to the two-minute pitches during which 13 start-ups presented their solutions, guest speakers gave inspirational speeches and lectures on current affairs and tendencies in the industry and the entrepreneurship world. Branko Andjelkovic from Galenika presented how Galenika, being one of the largest pharmaceutical players in the Serbian market, is using digital tools and what innovations are improving the industry. Dr Svetlana Ibric, Professor at the Faculty of Pharmacy, presented the university’s first 3D print lab, while Roi Shternin, an Israeli entrepreneur, talked about his inspirational journey of “medical revolution from bed”, defeating his illness that encouraged him to step into the world of start-ups.
The participants were also addressed by the organizers of this program in Serbia – Stasa Stankovic in front of the Innovation Forum Cambridge, Ivana Bezarevic in front of the Science Technology Park Belgrade, as well as Ivana Kostic of the Health Tech Lab organization, which is a partner in the implementation of this program.
This year’s platinum sponsor of the program is Roche, the gold sponsor AstraZeneca, while the bronze sponsors are Swiss Contact and Okkuant. The cocktail after the official part of the program was more enjoyable with Aleksić winery wines.
