STP Belgrade participated at the conference TALENTI NA OKUPU 1.0

A one-day conference TALENTI NA OKUPU 1.0 was held today in Belgrade, with the aim to bring together people from Serbia who work successfully and study abroad.

The idea was to discuss what they and the Serbia Government could do in order to transform brain drain from Serbia into the circulation of talents, and how to create an environment within young and educated people who leave the country, after a while, will be able to return to their homeland and share their experiences and acquired knowledge. The conference was organized on the personal initiative of Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

The discussions took place within several different panels. One of them, “Economy of Knowledge at Work” was attended by Gordana Danilović Grković, acting director of Science Technology Park Belgrade. She presented the development path of the first technology park in Serbia, as well as the results achieved since it’s establishment, stressing that the great success which have been achieved in previous 3 years, was significant thanks to the support of Serbian Diaspora, too. Danilović Grković reminded the importance of this cooperation and invited members of the Serbian Diaspora to participate in one of STP Belgrade’s programs.

As she pointed out, Science Technology Park Belgrade operates with more than 70 startups and growing high-tech companies, among some of which were founded by returnees from abroad, while some of them were developed by our experts who still live and work abroad.
