At Science Technology Park Belgrade, an event was held yesterday to present the draft Action Plan for Innovation of the Republic of Serbia, developed within the Innovation Policy Ignition Programme (IPIP) in cooperation with Hughes Hall, University of Cambridge.

Over the course of the six-month programme, a multidisciplinary team of experts from Serbia, supported by international mentors, worked on developing an inclusive and actionable innovation policy framework aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship, fostering innovation-driven companies, and supporting sustainable economic growth.

The event was opened by Marija Gnjatović, State Secretary at the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, followed by addresses from representatives of the IPIP programme. Closing remarks were delivered by Edward Ferguson, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Serbia, and Marija Milić, Director of Naučno-tehnološki park Beograd.

The session was moderated by Professor Simon Stockley from Cambridge Judge Business School, with international mentors joining online, led by Programme Director Wojtek Wojaczek.

This event marked the final public presentation by the Serbian team ahead of their participation in the residential programme in Cambridge, taking place from 2–4 March, alongside a team from the Silesia region in Poland.

The event was organized with the support of British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, reaffirming the importance of international cooperation and the integration of Serbia’s innovation ecosystem with leading global centres of knowledge.

We extend our special thanks to Jadranka Dervišević Kitaric, Executive Director of the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, as well as to the professors and mentoring team whose expertise and dedication significantly contributed to the development of the Action Plan and to strengthening Serbia’s institutional capacities in the field of innovation policy.
