British Council Macedonia and New Business Accelerator Mans in Skopje organized a competition for startup companies from the Western Balkans last weekend, where 12 teams from Serbia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania presented their ideas.
Startup teams have previously had the opportunity to undergo training for creative entrepreneurship held by the British agency NESTA and intensive training of presentation skills that are held by experts and mentors, accelerator New Mans.
The company Honorarci.rs which is a company member of the Science Technology Park Belgrade, was chosen as the best startup project in this competition, winning first place and a cash prize of 3,000 pounds.
Freelancers in Skopje represented Strahinja Vukoičić, which is said about it:
“I liked the energy that prevailed during the entire competition. So many young people from the region are ready to change things and make progress, and I believe that now nothing can stop us. Technology has become an integral part of our lives and young people should use it. I would like to thank the rest of the team for their help, because it is the teamwork that brought us to this award. If we want to achieve even better results, team play is the best way to do it.”
One of the founders of Freelancers, Milan Tuševljak, gave his view on this great success:
“I am very pleased with the success that we have made. Competition and the jury were very sharp, and despite the faith in my team we could not be sure of victory until the very end. Winning the first place I was delighted, as all members Honorarci.rs team and gave us extra motivation to continue to develop this business idea, both in Serbia and in the region. I believe that our friends and contacts we have gained during his stay in Skopje will be very useful in the implementation of our business plan.”
All representatives of the teams and young entrepreneurs during the two-day training and competition get important guidelines for the further development of their projects, as well as opportunities for support and funding that are available in the region, through private and institutional funding sources.
