In five years, Science Technology Park Belgrade (STP Belgrade) has supported more than 100 companies in the development and commercialization of innovative products and services. Seven support programs have been developed, more than 500 young potential entrepreneurs have been trained for tech entrepreneurship, while over 3,500 students have been introduced to the startup development.
Today, the member companies of STP Belgrade employ more than 850 highly educated people and export to over 40 countries in the world.
STP Belgrade is extremely proud of the results in the first 5 years of work. These results show the great potential for the development of innovations in Serbia and that the development of the right support instruments such as science and technology parks can create conditions for young, educated people in Serbia to develop their ideas, make successful businesses and create innovative products and services for the global market. More than 50% of the income of STP member companies today, comes from exports.
STP Belgrade helps innovative teams and companies to be market-oriented, to work on solving a specific market problem using technology, which significantly increases the success rate of companies.
In the coming period, the focus will be on sharing knowledge and transferring experience to local partners in Serbia – in the newly established science and technology parks in Nis and Cacak, in order to encourage the development of new startup companies in these regions as well. These activities are supported by the Swiss Government, through a four-year project “Technopark Serbia 2 – Boosting exports through technoparks”.
STP Belgrade has been established in 2015, as a partnership between the Republic of Serbia Government (represented by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development), the City of Belgrade and the University of Belgrade, with support of the Swiss Government, based on international experiences and best practices, thus becoming a place where Institutions meet Science and Industry.
