As part of the conference “Wave of New Opportunities”, held on the occasion of the establishment of the Center for Innovation and Digital Development of the Municipality of Knjaževac, representatives of the innovation ecosystem, local government and institutions discussed the importance of digital skills, modern entrepreneurship and the application of new technologies in the development of local communities.

The program placed a special focus on panel discussions and talks dedicated to digital business development, the labor market and technology-driven entrepreneurship, emphasizing that knowledge, innovation and global business opportunities are not reserved exclusively for large urban centers.

The panel also featured Đorđe Šundrić, Assistant Director for National and International Projects at Science Technology Park Belgrade, who spoke about the journey of startup teams from the initial idea to entering international markets. He highlighted the role of science and technology parks, international projects and connections with global partners in the growth and scaling of technology companies.

The discussion emphasized the importance of participation in international technology conferences, access to innovation programs and connections with investors as key steps in the global positioning of Serbian startup teams and strengthening the competitiveness of the domestic economy.

It was concluded that the development of digital initiatives in smaller communities, such as Knjaževac, represents an important foundation for sustainable regional development, talent retention and the creation of new opportunities within a knowledge- and innovation-based economy.
