At the “ExcellMater Conference 2024” held this week at STP Belgrade, renowned world scientists presented the results of research in the field of biomedicine and pharmacy, and there was also talk of new biomaterials in the field of regenerative medicine and tissue engineering, testing of antitumor drugs, antimicrobial biomaterials, as well as and biomaterials used in orthopedics and dentistry.

The lecture of one of the most significant scientists of our time, prof. Gordane Vunjak Novaković, PhD from Columbia University, attracted the interest of everyone present. She showed how different types of tissues, which can be used in transplantation, are grown in the laboratory, as well as how microtissues are grown in microfluidic devices for use in biological and pharmaceutical research.

During the conference, a round table was organized at which “Twinning” projects were discussed within the framework of the important European program HORIZON 2020, i.e., HORIZON EUROPE.

Special attention was given to young researchers, who presented the results of their research.
