One of the key values of the “R&D ReDesign For Her” hackathon is the continued support provided to teams after the competition ends. As part of this commitment, the winning team of the hackathon, Ellement, together with the Science Technology Park Belgrade team, visited Desing company in Knjaževac.
During the visit, participants had the opportunity to learn about the complete process of developing and producing fruit preparations, toppings, fillings, and other products created through a combination of innovation, expertise, and long-standing experience. With more than three decades of tradition, Desing continuously invests in research, development, and product improvement, building its recognition and success in both domestic and international markets.
The visit was organised as a Learning Factory activity within the HMI2Market project, with the aim of providing students and innovation teams with direct insight into real production and development processes. The Learning Factory concept connects students, researchers, startups, and companies, offering them the opportunity to test and validate innovative solutions in a real business environment.
For the Ellement team, this visit was an important opportunity to discuss their winning solution — the Smart Assist platform — with representatives of Desing, as well as to explore the feasibility of implementing certain elements of the solution in the onboarding process for new employees.
Science Technology Park Belgrade extends its gratitude to Desing for the warm hospitality, shared knowledge, and openness to cooperation. Experiences like this provide valuable insights for students and innovation teams, while also offering additional motivation to continue developing ideas that can grow into innovative, concrete, and sustainable solutions.
