Lecture “From Academic Excellence to Industrial Applicability through Technology Transfer” on April 22 at STP Belgrade

The Science Technology Park Belgrade, in cooperation with the Swiss Federal Institute of Intellectual Property, is organizing the lecture “Collaboration of Science and Economy: From Academic Excellence to Industrial Applicability through Technology Transfer” on Monday, April 22, from 10 a.m.

The aim of this lecture is to transfer knowledge and direct experience in the field of intellectual property (IP) management in research projects and joint projects with the economy. This will be discussed by:

  • Ljiljana Kundaković, leading associate for scientific and technical cooperation at “Siniša Stanković” Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”, and
  • Natascha Eckert, global manager of cooperation with universities at Siemens AG.

Ljiljana Kundaković will highlight the basic principles of managing the protection of intellectual property in research projects, the implications of joint ownership of IP, transfer and licensing of project results. In particular, the specific requirements of the Horizon Europe program and the Science Fund (IPR provisions, exploitation and expansion of grant and consortium agreements) will be discussed.

In the second part, the guest from Siemens, Natasha Eckert, will highlight important aspects in the collaboration between science and economy from the perspective of a large corporation – the basic principles of cooperation with faculties, universities and scientists, with a special focus on contracts, sponsored and collaborative research.

This lecture is organized by STP Belgrade as part of the activities on the project “Technopark Serbia 2 – Boosting Exports through Technoparks”, with the support of the Government of Switzerland.
