President of the National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina, prof. dr. Jörg Hacker with his associates, visited today Science technology park Belgrade as a part of his two-day visit to Serbia. The visit to STP Belgrade was organized in order to discuss the current challenges and potential for bilateral cooperation between Germany and Serbia in the domain of innovation, entrepreneurship and digital transformation within the Berlin Process.
Acting director Gordana Danilović Grković presented STP Belgrade and its impressive results after only three years of work, which the guests congratulated and expressed great satisfaction that such organization for support of innovation activities exists in Serbia and that it works with great success. Presentations on their organizations were also held by the director of the Innovation Fund, dr. Ivan Rakonjac, as well as the director of the Institute “Mihajlo Pupin” prof. dr. Sanja Vraneš. The companies of STP Belgrade – Smart Research and Novel IC also had the opportunity to present their work and their innovations to the guests.
During the open discussion, the present situation and potentials of the IT sector in Serbia were presented together with the modalities of assistance that Germany could provide to these organizations in order to continue with successful work and results, as well as aspects for future cooperation.
The President of the Academy also visited the companies Futuring and FESTO in a short tour through the STP Belgrade.
Visit of the prof. dr. Jörg Hacker is the first visit of the President of the German National Academy to Serbia since the Second World War. It is our great pleasure that the Science technology park Belgrade was in the agenda of this short-term visit of the President to Serbia.
