For better habits of schoolchildren – Education under ninth season of the project “Zdravo Rastimo” held at STP Belgrade

More than 90 physical education teachers from elementary schools from all over Serbia attended on Thursday, October 24th, training of the ninth season of the “Zdravo Rastimo” project at STP Belgrade. The project, initiated jointly by Nestle and the Serbian Sports Federation, emphasized the importance of proper nutrition and the importance of physical activity for children.

Five physical education teachers from Kac, Kragujevac, Kikinda, Prijepolje and Paracin, with scientists from the Institute “Dr Milan Jovanovic Batut”, nutritionists and experts held a kind of public class. Speaking in light of the project on important topics such as peer education, sports, healthier eating, statistical comparisons and impact on the wider society, the participants summarized what they learned from “Zdravo Rastimo” partners or key players. According to the teacher, only some of the concrete activities within the project were quizzes, competitions, crosses, performances and exhibitions, the making of the most beautiful meal plate and the like.

The “Zdravo Rastimo” project in the new, ninth season will include 7,163 seventh grade students and 15,314 third and fourth grade students, as part of peer education. This year, more than 22,000 students in 93 schools across Serbia will continue to learn about proper nutrition and the importance of physical activity.

The participants of the event were greeted on behalf of Science Technology Park Belgrade by Marija Mirkovic, Assistant for Institutional Cooperation, who invited elementary school teachers to visit STP Belgrade, the first science technology park in Serbia, when they organise excursions to Serbian capital.
