Second TOM: Belgrade The Makaton, organized by 3D Republic, was completed last night at the Science Technology Park Belgrade. For the past three days (November 15-17), 9 teams have been working on their tasks – to make aids for one of the participants and thus facilitate the functioning of persons with disabilities.
The teams were made of persons knowing needs of people with disabilities (children, young people and adults with disabilities, their family members, supportive and professional staff or persons with a deeper understanding of the needs of people with disabilities) and makers (young innovators with a pronounced problem-solving motive, those who are ready to contribute their skills to the assembled community – machinists, electrical engineers, artisans, software engineers, students).
Everything was designed with 3D printers, and great, practical solutions were presented last night at the end of a unique three-day marathon.
The event was supported by: UNICEF, Science Technology Park Belgrade, Embassy of the Netherlands, Embassy of Israel, Ultimaker, Polyhedra and Highbreed systems, Consulting M, CarGo.
TOM: Belgrade is part of a global non-profit movement of innovators dedicated to creating affordable solutions to the day-to-day problems of people with disabilities. The previous Makaton was held in November 2018.
