Eleven teams formed last week during the fourth student start-up camp at STP Belgrade presented their innovative ideas to the jury last night at the Demo Day. Izoom was selected as the best among them with the idea of developing smart shopping carts to reduce the time customers spend in queues at checkout.

The winning team was awarded with three months of STP Belgrade support to further develop their idea and business model, while Flixbus provided free return tickets to some of the destinations they travel to.

Student Start-up Camp ParkUP! brought together more than 60 students who have worked hard and passed a series of interactive lectures and workshops over the past days (February 19-25) on how to form a successful start-up based on the Lean start-up methodology: from how to identify an idea, define problems and target groups, through developing presentation skills, team skills, conversations with potential customers, ways to make money, protect intellectual property… Experienced start-up founders shared with academics their experiences in the start-up world and additionally, by their example, motivated young people to take up technological entrepreneurship.

ParkUP! was organized by STP Belgrade with the support of the Swiss Government. The partners in the project were Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties Belgrade, the UB Career Development Center, UNICEF, and camp friends: Knjaz Milos, Flixbus, Oracle, Oracle, Domaće kiflice i Ferdinand knedle.

Special thanks to the jury consisting of: Jelena Nesic, Business Consultant and one of the founders of the Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties of Belgrade, Dane Atanaskovic of the Innovation Fund and Jasmina Popovska of the European Institute of Technology & Innovation who presented Digital Venture Program intended for entrepreneurs from Europe with the aim of achieving growth internationally.

All students who want to master the basics of developing a start-up and step into the world of technology entrepreneurship through ParkUP! program, will have the opportunity to do so already at the next student camp this July!
