H.E. Yahel Vilan, Ambassador of Israel to Serbia visited the Science Technology Park Belgrade today and donated to startup company Smart Research equipment for further development of innovative health-tech solutions. Marko Panić, the co-founder of startup SmartReserch, that develops Smartblot device for automation of biochemical analyzes, received the donation. This startup also developed a prototype of an automatic respiratory device, so-called the first Serbian respirator, in cooperation with the Mihailo Pupin Institute during the Coronavirus pandemic. This donation was given through the Mashav grant awarded by the Embassy of Israel in Belgrade.

During the visit, the Ambassador of Israel was introduced to the development path, programs, activities, and results of the first science technology park in Serbia, which has supported more than 100 companies in the development and commercialization of innovative products and services, since its establishment in 2015. As noted, this path includes extremely successful cooperation with startup organizations and experts from Israel. The visit was an ideal opportunity for the Ambassador to meet and talk to some Serbian entrepreneurs, members company of STP Belgrade, and get an idea of the dynamic and innovative environment of the STP Belgrade.
