About 60 students trained on the basics of tech entrepreneurship – Sports-tech idea the best at the end of the student startup camp in STP Belgrade

Eleven teams formed on the summer student startup camp ParkUP! in Science Technology Park Belgrade, presented their ideas yesterday to an expert jury. SportUP was pronounced the best with the idea of connecting recreational athletes to find an appropriate teammate and an available sports facility.

The best team was awarded the six-month support of STP Belgrade to further develop the idea, and books by Eric Reese and Simon Sinek. The most active campers who motivated their teams and camp participants with their dedication were also pronounced.

This year’s ParkUP! gathered about 60 students who during 5 working days (14-20 July) learned about the basics of startup development: idea formation, problem testing, customer interviews, market analysis, teamwork, pitches, intellectual property protection, startup funding … They completed more than 15 workshops, worked with experienced experts in business development and heard from startup founders who shared their experiences and additionally motivated young people for tech entrepreneurship by their example.

Science Technology Park Belgrade organized the student boot camp with the support of the Swiss Government, under the project Technopark Serbia 2 – boosting exports through technoparks. The project partners are the Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties in Belgrade (BITF), the UB Career Development Center and UNICEF. STP Belgrade owes a great deal of gratitude to the friends of the camp: Flixbus, Kiglice, Vladsdigital, Skakaonica and Ferdinand Knedle.

Special thanks to the expert jury consisting of: Jelena Nesic, business consultant and one of the founders of the Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties in Belgrade, Dragisa Vicevic, Assistant Director of STP Belgrade and Natasa Cirovic, Professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Belgrade.

All students who want to master the basics of developing a startup and step into the world of tech entrepreneurship through the ParkUP! program will have the opportunity to do so at the next student camp next year!
