On the occasion of November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the Israeli Embassy in Belgrade, in cooperation with the Science Technology Park Belgrade (STP Belgrade), is organizing a panel and round table on “Technological Innovations in Combating Violence Against Women”. On this occasion, Lili Ben Ami, the executive director and founder of the Michal Sela Forum, a non-profit organization that works to prevent domestic violence and provide assistance to victims with innovative tech solutions, is coming to Belgrade from Israel. The event will be held on Wednesday, November 24, from 3 to 5 pm on the premises of STP Belgrade.
The Michal Sela Forum is named after Lili Ben Ami’s sister, who was brutally killed by her husband in 2019. Her efforts to help fight violence against women with the support of the Israeli tech community were recognized by Google and Facebook, which supported the organization of the SAFE @ HOME hackathon in Israel, in May 2021. At the event in Belgrade, Lily Ben Amy will present some of the most interesting, innovative solutions for protecting women from violence.
Representatives of the Serbian technological community and non-governmental organizations dealing with the prevention of violence against women will discuss the problems and possible tech solutions during the round table, which will be moderated by the Hivemind team with the support of the Ženska posla platform.
