The Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education, and the Information Society of the Republika Srpska have begun preparations for the establishment of the first science technology park in the Republika Srpska. As the experiences of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, which is continuously working on establishing a framework for accelerated development of innovations, are very important in this process, as well as the experience of the first science technology park in Serbia, a meeting about cooperation in the field of science and innovation was held in Belgrade today, along with the signing of the Memorandum of Strategic Partnership for the establishment of the Science Technology Park Banja Luka (STP Banja Luka).
The memorandum was signed by the Minister of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of the Republic of Srpska, Srdjan Rajčević, and the Acting Director of the Science Technology Park Belgrade, Gordana Danilović Grković. The meeting and signing were attended by state secretaries at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, Prof. dr Marijana Dukić Mijatović, and prof. Dr. Ivica Radović.
The signed Memorandum envisages that STP Belgrade will provide professional, advisory support to the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development, Higher Education and Information Society of Republika Srpska, in order to accelerate the establishment of Science Technology Park in Banja Luka, in accordance with good examples of international practice.
The Ministry, in cooperation with STP Belgrade, will work intensively on raising awareness of the importance of tech entrepreneurship and the culture of innovation, as well as encouraging young people to start their own businesses.
