Networking and Access to the German Market for Innovative Companies from Serbia

According to the internationalization research we conducted with domestic startups, as many as 47% of them map the DACH region as their primary market for expansion.

At the gathering dedicated to the networking of Serbian startups and German companies “Serbian Innovation Meets German Excellence”, today, in cooperation with the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce, we opened a discussion on the possibilities of this cooperation in the field of innovation, trends and explored opportunities for expanding the business of innovative technological companies from Serbia to the German market.

In discovering ways to start business expansion in Germany, important experiences and lessons learned from companies that already work closely with partners and clients in this market gave a lot of insight. They were shared by Jure Galić from our member company NOVELIC, which has been operating in Germany since its beginnings and has recently opened its office in Munich, Dragan Stajić from the German company whose research and development center is located here in STP, HDT D&P, as well as Filip Mitrović from 360 Mobility, who has 15+ years of experience working for German companies.

The Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, Jelena Begović, was also present at the opening of the gathering; she presented the potential of Serbia’s innovation ecosystem.

The President of the German-Serbian Chamber of Commerce (AHK), Milan Grujić, said that the focus of that association in the upcoming period will be on innovation and support to startups.

The participants were also greeted by Gordana Danilović Grković, Director of STP Belgrade, who pointed out that STP Belgrade supports innovative companies so that they could accelerate their growth and development and conquer new markets, where the support of the relevant Ministry is particularly important, as well as international partnerships and initiatives, like this one, that provide startups with important opportunities to expand their business internationally.

The meeting also featured a panel dedicated to opportunities for business cooperation between Serbian startups and German companies, where Wolfgang Piesch from Continental Automotive Serbia, Dr. Sven Lammermann from ZF Serbia, Vukota Eraković from Robert Bosch and Nebojša Bjelotomić from the Digital Serbia Initiative gave speeches.
