The President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, visited Science Technology Park Belgrade together with the First Lady, Caroline Parmelin, and a high-level governmental and business delegation from Switzerland and Serbia.

During the visit, a new cycle of the Raising Starts program was officially launched at Science Technology Park Belgrade. The program is implemented with the support of Switzerland, with the aim of strengthening innovation-driven entrepreneurship and supporting startups during the most important phase of their development and internationalization.

The program represents one of the key forms of cooperation between the two countries in the field of innovation and startup ecosystem development, with a focus on creating conditions for innovations to emerge in Serbia and grow in the global market.

The delegation was introduced to member companies of Science Technology Park Belgrade, including Meter&Control and Termovent, as well as successful Raising Starts alumni startups Tricell and Smartsy. In this way, concrete results of cooperation and the impact of Swiss support on the development of the domestic innovation ecosystem were presented.

The visit was attended by the Minister of Science, Technological Development and Innovation, Bela Balint, State Secretary Marija Gnjatović, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment Mihailo Jovanović, Swiss Ambassador to Serbia Anne Lugon-Moulin, and Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Switzerland Ivan Trifunović.

Director of Science Technology Park Belgrade, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marija Milić, emphasized the importance of the visit as confirmation of successful cooperation and joint contribution to innovation development, connecting science and industry, and strengthening the capacities of domestic startups for global growth.

The visit once again confirms the long-term partnership between Serbia and Switzerland in developing the innovation ecosystem and supporting the startup community.
