Last week, partners of the HMI2MARKET project gathered in Munich for a consortium meeting and study visit hosted by TUM and TUM International.

The program included visits to institutions within the TUM ecosystem, including TUMint Energy, the Munich Institute of Robotics & Machine Intelligence (MIRMI), and the Siemens Technology Center. Participants also took part in workshops focused on university-industry collaboration, artificial intelligence in education, innovation ecosystems, and entrepreneurship support.

During the visit, participants gained valuable insights into the functioning of Munich’s innovation ecosystem and the key factors that drive its success. Through discussions with experts from TUM, TUM International, and Siemens, they explored models of collaboration between academia and industry, the importance of shared infrastructure for innovation development, and the mechanisms that support technology transfer, startup growth, and entrepreneurial culture.

Particularly inspiring were the visits to MIRMI laboratories and the Siemens Technology Center, where partners learned about advanced research models, strategic innovation planning, and approaches to connecting research, education, and emerging technological trends.

The consortium also reflected on nearly 18 months of successful project implementation and defined the next steps for the upcoming phase. The focus will be on engaging more than 50 students in learning factory programs, supporting startups in developing HMI solutions with social impact, and strengthening the role of higher education institutions as drivers of innovation and entrepreneurship.

For the Belgrade Science and Technology Park, knowledge exchanges of this kind are especially valuable, as they contribute to strengthening the regional innovation ecosystem and fostering stronger connections between academia, industry, and innovation support organizations.
