“It really looks impressive when you see how successful can cooperate large companies and small start-ups at one place, and how much it contributes to the common development. Despite the fact that innovative start-up companies as well as everywhere in the world, are struggling to find the necessary capital and investors who are willing to undertake a risk investments, what these young people are doing within STP Belgrade is currently innovative at any market”, said Alexander Tschäppät, the mayor of Bern. He visited today the Science Technology Park in Zvezdara within his official visit to Belgrade. On that occasion, he met several representatives of start-up companies that have started their business operations in the Business Technology Incubator of Technical Faculties Belgrade (BITF), which last year expanded its capacity within the Science Technology Park Belgrade.

Distinguished Swiss guest was able to get acquainted with the innovations of young entrepreneurs, some of which have already become well-known around the world, such as Smart Benches of the Strawberry Energy company, which provides energy for charging phone, tablets, etc. by using only solar energy. The company Eon+ presented its software solution for assessing the impact on the environment. The innovators of Aggios Europe company presented the way their hardware and software solutions for energy consumption savings are functioning. The entrepreneurs of the company “Honorarci” presented the first Internet database of part-time workers.

Speaking about the importance of technological innovation for the overall growth of the economy, Gordana Danilovic Grkovic, the acting director of the STP Belgrade, emphasized the importance of the support of the Swiss government through the project “Science Technology Park Belgrade – the new export instrument of Serbia.” This three-year project is supported by the Swiss Secretariat for Economic Affairs SECO, in order to significantly increase the share of high-tech products and services in Serbia’s total exports.
