Today Dragomir Petronijevic, a member of the City Council and Gordana Danilovic Grković, Acting Director of the Science Technology Park Belgrade, opened a training system that will the finalists of the competition for the best startup idea attend for the period of one year.
– A total of 17 teams will learn how to start a business, how to talk to potential investors how to negotiate, how not to be deceived, and other skills that will be needed in entrepreneurship. We want to protect them and keep in the country and that is why we’ll always have time for them. Today, the four best teams get their space in the Science Technology Park and will have mentors for the whole year. Up to us to find them the best possible partners among entrepreneurs to continue to develop their product, and there will be experts from the Agency for Business Registers that will help them with all the necessary procedures. So, from now the Science Technology Park will be richer with four new start-up companies that will receive the money, space and mentoring to develop their products and motivated to stay in their country – said Petronijevic.
It is also recalled that a year and a half ago Science Technology Park Belgrade was completely empty, and today it gathers 50 companies, 21 growing technology development company and 29 startups with about 500 young IT professionals.
Gordana Danilovic Grković reminded that the final competition went very well, so we decided to provide support for more teams than previously planned.
– We want to help them to develop their ideas further on best possible way and to protect their intellectual property, because it is not easy for young team for Serbia who’s just starting their business to manage that in the United States, for example. We will work on the development of business planning following best known world “lean” methodology, and there will also be training on project writing. Also, we will cooperate with the Innovation Fund who has published a call for mini-grants to finance the best innovation, sincerely wishing to further develop their ideas and help them at the very beginning, when they need help the most – said the director of STP Belgrade.
