The Council for cooperation of science and economy of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce discussed on Friday about the goals and guidelines of the Draft Law on Science and Research. The problems such as long-term project financing of the research process, large disproportions in the number of researchers in certain areas, and unevenness of funding between the faculties and the institute, were noticed. It does not produce good results and the current situation seems unsustainable.
If the goal is to develop Serbia as a knowledge-based economy, then we must strive for an efficient cooperation between science and economy, methods and models that will enable the process of commercialization of research results.
In addition to support the reform course of this law, the Council advocated the design and legal recognition of such cores as an interface, which will help in connecting research and industry – from research centers, technological platforms to science and technology parks.
